In addition to frame, wall, and roof systems, there are other components of a metal building system generally referred to as accessories. These include roof vents, light transmitting panels, interior liner panels, louvers, wall lights, wall openings, windows, pedestrian doors, overhead doors, fascias, mansards, canopies, and trim in general. Any numbers of these items are required to complete a metal building system. These individual components are also manufactured as integral units for the metal building system. When installed, they will be compatible in both design and appearance with the wall and roof systems that they penetrate.
A horizontal secondary structural member, bolted to the rafters, which transfers the roof loads from the roof covering to the primary frames.
Roof sheets are connected with purlins. Purlins are connected with panel points of the truss. There is no direct connection between roof sheathing and truss top chord. Uniformly distributed roof load is carried by purlins. This UDL is converted into point loads acting at panel points of truss.
Secondary horizontal member attached to the main frame columns. Girts normally support wall panels.
In architecture or structural engineering, a girt, also known as a sheeting rail, is a horizontal structural member in a framed wall. Girts provide lateral support to the wall panel, primarily, to resist wind loads. A comparable element in roof construction is a purlin.
Louvers are used to provide natural air flow into a building. Louvers are generally used in industrial and storage buildings. They form a part of the ventilation system that is often required to reduce buildup of dust, vapour and heat inside buildings to practical levels. The use of louvers, suitably positioned in the perimeter walls of a building, in combination with roof ventilators provides continuous circulation of natural air and creates a healthier atmosphere for the building occupants.
While providing fresh air intake and exhaust, Louvers can also provide architectural style to building design. With the variety of models, sizes, and paint finishes available, Louvers can add unusual and appealing features to exterior and interior elevation.
